Pop sensation Ed Sheeran has celebrated Ipswich Town’s promotion to the Premier League while in Miami.
Ipswich sealed promotion to the Premier League after a 22-year absence with a comfortable win that also mathematically confirmed Huddersfield’s relegation.
Portman Road celebrated in earnest when Wes Burns broke the deadlock midway through the first half and Omari Hutchinson added a second goal just after half-time.
Meanwhile, Sheeran was filmed celebrating the 2-0 win in Miami, where he is currently on tour.
He was seen throwing his arms in the air after the final whistle and even took to Instagram to share a reel.

‘Congratulations to all the players, people at the club and of course super Kieran. Sorry I can’t be there to celebrate, but we don’t want another betting company as a sponsor next season. Uppa city. Emotional. See you in the Prem’.
The 33-year-old pop sensation also Facetimed the team as they celebrated in the locker room.
The players jokingly said ‘where are you!?’ to Sheeran, who responded by saying: ‘I have to earn the money to sponsor the club!’.
However, Sheeran did tell the boys that he would be back in Britain on Wednesday and that he would like to spend a night out with them.

Speak with ESPN of Ipswich, Sheeran said: “I live just outside Ipswich, I’ve seen it go through some really tough times.
“I know that participating in the Premier League will not only bring real excitement for the football club, but also real excitement and joy for the city and a boost, which is very important.”
He added: “The brilliant thing about football is that it is very unpredictable and you never know what is going to happen.
‘We’ve seen the top six teams in England fall from grace before and you’ve seen the likes of Leicester win the league. You never know, if we can avoid relegation next season, then for me that will be the biggest success, but you never know what will happen.’
Sheeran is a global superstar but is often seen on Portman Road cheering on the Tractor Boys. He once joined Sir Elton John in the stands to watch Ipswich vs Watford.
