A young woman on a thrilling off-road adventure filmed the moment she narrowly avoided death after a tree branch crashed through her car.
Jacinta Russell-Arnot had ridden with someone else through the Tasmanian bushland on a relatively clean piece of land earlier this year.
The vehicle was traveling between trees when it went over a bump and came to an abrupt stop.
The video showed a tree branch protruding through the underside of the car from the glove compartment, stopping just inches from Ms Russell-Arnot’s chest.
Although the pair were wearing hard hats, they had not prepared for this particular situation.
“Some would call me a lucky girl!” Ms Russell-Arnot wrote on TikTok.
The video, which has been viewed more than 800,000 times, shocked Australians, who couldn’t believe how close the off-roader came to death.
‘So incredibly lucky!! Buy a lotto ticket,” one person wrote.

‘Unbelievable good luck!!!!!!! Imagine being a few miles faster,” someone said.
Another added: “You are one blessed lady.”
But others couldn’t see what the fuss was about.
“At that speed it would tear a little skin and leave some bruises at most, people are so overreacting,” one person wrote.
“The tree branch was a paid actor,” said another.
One added: “People actually believe this.”
Others noted that the pair needed ‘skid plates’ for their Yamaha off-roader.
While off-roading on rough terrain requires special vehicles, many people also choose to add skid plates, also called skid plates and bash plates.
The plates are designed to protect occupants from debris entering their vehicle and can be installed in various parts of the car.
They can cost anywhere from $150 to $475, but when off-road enthusiasts see Ms. Russell-Arnot’s images, most will probably agree it’s worth the price.
