The explosive moment police swooped on the petrol-soaked home of sordid love triangle family

Dramatic footage shows the moment a jilted husband who went on a shovel-wielding rampage after finding his wife and brother having sex in a car with his mother in the front seat is arrested for allegedly breaching a restraining order.

David McCulloch, 41, grabbed a shovel and threatened to kill his wife, Jacinta King, and brother, Jamie McCulloch, when he found them in the back of a car in Devonport, northern Tasmania, on the evening of March 28.

He was particularly angry because his mother, Sue McCulloch, had driven them to the commission car park and sat in the driver’s seat while they had sex – apparently unfazed by what was happening behind her.

McCulloch was granted bail in May and ordered to comply with an interim family violence order to protect Ms King.

However, he allegedly violated this order during a second attack on the family’s state home on the morning of July 19.

Dramatic video obtained by Daily Mail Australia shows a number of police cars, fire engines and ambulances parked outside the property as officers smash windows and rush inside.

The power to the house was cut and a screaming McCulloch – who had locked himself in a room of the house – was dragged from the property, handcuffed and taken away by paramedics.

Neighbors said the extent of the emergency response was due to the fact that petrol had flowed throughout the property, causing fears for the family’s well-being.

The video showed several police officers breaking windows and doors to enter the house.

Family members could be heard shouting and cursing.

Once McCulloch was outside, he could be heard shouting, “My damn dog!” before an officer ran into the driveway and retrieved the runaway pet.

A neighbor said screaming from the building woke her up that morning.

She ran outside to see what was happening and saw McCulloch struggling on the ground as police tried to handcuff him.

“He had a bottle of water next to him, so I don’t know if they pepper sprayed him or what,” she said.

McCulloch was later charged with breaching a family violence order. The matter is before the court.

After the argument, the family left the building, but some of their belongings are still inside.

Last week, McCulloch was sentenced in the Burnie Supreme Court to three years in prison over the March 28 shovel attack.

The violent altercation only ended when a concerned resident called police.

The resident told Daily Mail Australia she saw Sue’s car from the front that evening but didn’t realize what was happening until David grabbed the shovel and started banging on the vehicle.

She remembered him shouting, “You’re nothing but a dog, you damn dog, you’re supposed to be my brother, how can you root my wife?”

Sue locked the car doors and Jamie continued to have sex with Jacinta, until David pried the door open and started throwing punches.

David then turned to Sue and shouted: ‘You’re not a mother, damn it, you’re nothing but a slut,’ and pushed her into a bin.

Daily Mail Australia previously revealed that McCulloch’s mother facilitated the affair between his brother and wife because she was the only one with a driver’s license.

McCulloch’s wife, Mrs. King, had ordered her mother-in-law to remain in the vehicle during their appointment, and she complied.

While McCulloch is behind bars, Mrs King and his brother Jamie took shelter together in a filthy caravan parked in the driveway outside a suburban home.

When asked for comment, Jamie described the situation as “hog wash” but otherwise couldn’t string together a coherent sentence.

When asked if he knew if his brother was in jail, Jamie laughed and muttered, “I know.”

On Thursday, the new couple drove together to the Salvation Army store in Devonport and seemed disappointed when it was closed.

McCulloch will be eligible for parole in 2025.
