Target Australia’s $60 designer dupe of a $380 item dubbed the must have buy of summer: ‘I am obsessed’

Target Australia has hit the mark with fashion-forward shoppers with its latest designer dress dupe.

The Lily Loves Bubble Hem Corset Mini Dress looks exactly like a $380 purchase from Reformation.

The Target dress is available in black and cream and is described as the perfect summer party dress.

The victim was highlighted by the Kmart Insider page on Instagram.

‘The 80s called, they want their bubble hems to make a modern comeback. Try this controversial trend for less,” the poster captioned the photo showing the two styles side by side.

Fans seemed pleased.

“Does this mean they’re done taunting us with the 90s comeback and going back another decade?” a woman asked.

While another added ‘we called them balloon dresses’.

“When I was seven, I was desperate for a bubble skirt,” said another woman.

“Yes, it reminds me of my year 10 formal days 1987,” another recalled.

Others remember briefly “coming back” in the 2000s.

“I wasn’t here in the 80s, but I remember loving my bubble miniskirts from Supré in 2007,” said one shopper.

Despite being declared the must-have summer party dress, it wasn’t sold on some shoppers.

“Oh God, put it back in the 80s where it belongs,” one woman said.

The Reformation dress goes up to a size 12, while the Target dress has been scaled up to a size 20 to appeal to more shoppers.

Target appears to be gaining ground on Kmart when it comes to fast fashion dupes, with customers claiming that clothing is of higher quality.
