Target Australia sends shoppers running over ‘perfect $20 dupe’ of $7,600 designer jewellery: ‘You’ll feel like royalty’

Shoppers reluctant to spend thousands of dollars on a popular luxury item have discovered what they claim is Target’s “perfect dupe” for just $20.

An Australian fashion blogger known as Kmart Insider found on Instagram what she claimed was an affordable alternative to French designer brand Van Cleef & Arpels’ jewelry collection, with each piece costing between $4,700 and $7,600.

“These Van Cleef dupes from Target Australia will make you feel like royalty,” she said.

Featuring a shamrock charm design and available in three colors: malachite green, onyx black and mother of pearl, Target’s wallet-friendly package includes a bracelet, necklace and a pair of earrings for just $20.

The package is strikingly similar to the jewelry collection of the more expensive segment.

A bracelet costs a whopping €7,600, while a necklace costs €4,700 and earrings cost €6,850.

Van Cleef & Arpels is widely regarded as one of the world’s most iconic luxury jewelry brands, famous for its signature four-leaf clover design.

Despite the significant price difference, there are key features that the cheaper style lacks.

The designer pieces are made of 18-karat gold and malachite gemstones with striking patterns, while Target’s version is gilded with stone-like shamrocks.

Kmart sells a similar range of clover-shaped jewelry, including a $4 bracelet, a $7 necklace and a $4 pair of earrings.

Many shoppers were stunned by Target’s “incredible” offering, with many saying it’s a great alternative for those who can’t afford the luxury price tag.

“Oh my God,” someone said.

“Running to goal,” another shared.

“I need these, so cute,” someone added.

Last month, the blogger behind Kmart Insider found an affordable alternative to Tory Burch’s Ever-Ready handbag at Kmart for just $22.

‘A designer bag without extras?! It’s a hard YES,” the blogger said.

The handbag-friendly printed model features a removable coin pocket, handles, a popper closure, a main compartment and a zipped pocket.

The brown mono handbag is made of synthetic plastic.

The blogger also pointed out that the $22 item is a great option for those who can’t afford a Louis Vuitton handbag, which can cost more than $3,000.

Many were impressed by her comparisons of Kmart and Tory Burch handbags, with one saying: ‘I literally saw the Kmart bag today… I may have to go back for it again.’

Another said: ‘Oh, wow… this is so cool.’

Meanwhile, those who own an expensive Louis Vuitton handbag admitted they can never fully enjoy it because they fear damaging it.

‘To be honest, I have an LV bag that is as good as new because I hardly use it. It just sits there in its cloth cover. Meanwhile, my everyday bag is a Kmart bag,” one person said.
