Every January, The Film Society hosts the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), followed by the Palm Springs ShortFest in June.

The official website states, “In addition to curating the best in international cinema, PSIFF has become known as the first stop on the road to the Academy Awards.”

It added that the Oscar®-qualifying ShortFest is the largest short film festival and market in North America.
