Tanmay Bhat responds to reports that his net worth is Rs 665 crore

Tamnay Bhat, comedian and content creator, was surprised when a report was published showing that his estimated net worth was over Rs 650 crore. According to a wealth management startup’s report, Tanmay Bhat’s estimated net worth is Rs 665 crore, making him India’s richest content creator.

Bhat is ahead of other top content creators in India such as Bhuman Bam with a net worth of Rs 122 crore and Carry Minati (Rs 50 crore).

However, Bhat, former CEO of comedy group AIB and the creative mind behind Moonshot, has dismissed the claims.

He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and said the song is “extremely off-color.” His tweet reads: “I can assure you that this song is wildly off – at least for me,”

Bhat also shared a separate post on X which he later deleted. In that post, the AIB founder said that no one can earn Rs 665 crore by posting memes on social media.

Tanmay, who started his career as a writer for TV shows, later founded a YouTube channel called AIB along with Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi and Ashish Shakya in 2013. The YouTube channel became extremely popular for its comedy skits, parodies and parodies.

However, he was later involved in several controversies, most notably in 2018 when, during the MeToo movement, Bhat was accused of protecting employee Utsav Chakraborty, who was accused of lewd behavior by a woman. Consequently, Bhat was removed as CEO of AIB.

Net worth of popular Indian creators

The report was published by Financial Express and the list includes the top content creators in India and their estimated net worth.

Tanmay Bhat topped the list with an estimated net worth of Rs 665 crore, followed by Technical Guruji with Rs 356 crore. Bhuvan Bam secured the third position with Rs 122 crore, then Ranveer Allahbadia with Rs 58 crore. Carry Minati (Ajey Nagar) is at the fifth position with a net worth of Rs 50 crore.
