Tamzin Outhwaite takes a swipe at cheating ex Tom Ellis

Tamzin Outhwaite has been hiding her unfaithful ex-husband Tom Ellis after learning about rocker Adam Levine’s alleged adultery.

In an exchange with fellow actress Amanda Abbington, the pair lashed out at claims that Maroon 5 frontman Adam, 43, had an affair with an Instagram model while married to his wife Behati Prinsloo.

Amanda wrote on Twitter: ‘Top tip: don’t f**k other people while they are still married to someone else and then name your third child with your partner after the person you are fucking.

“But don’t f**k people while you’re still married to someone else, because that will only make you a jerk.”

Former EastEnders star Tamzin replied, ‘Jeez who is it now? They like an affair while their wife is carrying their child, don’t they?’

There is no suggestion that Tom cheated while Tamzin was pregnant, but instead it was when their two children were young.

She added in a separate Tweet: “Personally, I think cheating while married is wrong. Maybe not get married?’

He admitted that he cheated on her while filming in the US.

Implying that more than a one night stand was involved, she said afterwards, “I wouldn’t be with my husband on a one night stand.”

Tamzin had met Ellis in 2005 through his longtime friend, the actor James McAvoy, who was on stage with Tamzin.

After the split, she explained, “I would have given anything to keep my family together, but it wasn’t to be.”

Sherlock and Mr Selfridge star Amanda, 48, separated from Martin Freeman after dating for 16 years on the set of the movie Men Only in 2000. They have two children together.

After the split, Amanda said, “It was one of the darkest moments of my life, but while I didn’t know it then, it also marked the beginning of an extraordinary journey of self-discovery.”

There is no suggestion that Martin cheated on Amanda.

In 2016, Amanda revealed that she cried every day for a week after their 16-year relationship ended — but came out the other side stronger than ever.

The pair had met on the set of the film Men Only in 2000 and then played the formidable duo of John and Mary Watson in the critically acclaimed BBC drama Sherlock.

But when they broke up, hopelessly romantic Amanda was terrified of being a single mother in her 40s and the divorce was one of the darkest times of her life.

“I thought Martin was the love of my life. This was not meant to happen to us,” she said in an interview with Red magazine.

“I woke up every morning with a sudden jolt. “Why do I feel sick?” I would ask myself, in the darkness of the bedroom I no longer shared with my partner. And then, a split second later, I remembered what had happened. ‘Oh,’ I thought, as the tears began to fall. ‘That’s why’.’

She added: “During that long, lonely week, I had to keep things together for the sake of our children, Joe and Gracie, who were then ten and eight.

“They had to be looked after. I had to wake them up and make them breakfast and take them to school and in a way the normal routine of that routine kept me going. I got up with it in the morning.’

“The breakup was incredibly difficult, but it taught me so much about myself because I was forced to face my worst fears,” she said.
