Grand Theft Auto6 Publisher Take-Two Interactive is “very confident” in the game’s release window of fall 2025.
Last week (May 17), Take-Two’s latest financial report revealed that the next big Grand Theft Auto title will be launched in late 2025 despite earlier reports of delays as Rockstar Games urged staff to return to the office.
In a recent interview, CNCB spoke about what was noted EurogamerTake-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has reconfirmed the game’s 2025 release date, but acknowledged there has been “industry slippage.”
“We’re not immune to that,” Zelnick said. “However, we have limited the timing because we have a lot of confidence at that time.”
When asked what determines a game’s release date, the CEO explained that it usually comes down to things like “the number of bugs,” but GTA6it’s also about “creating an experience that no one has seen before.”

“Each of us will make sure we have as few bugs as possible in a title before we launch,” Zelnick said. “However, in the case of an extraordinary title with extraordinary expectations, it’s not really about bugs, but about creating an experience that no one has seen before.
“And Rockstar Games seeks perfection in what they do. Perfection is indeed difficult to measure, it is really more subjective than objective.”
Rockstar Games officially unveiled GTA6 alongside a cinematic trailer in December, which confirmed long-standing rumors that the game will feature two playable protagonists: Lucia and Jason.
It has also been confirmed that the title will be set in the state of Leonida, where players will return to Vice City. Rockstar has described the area as “the largest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet”.
