He revealed that he did not see any of what is said to have happened, but he and three staff had to work around the clock at Kensington Palace and Windsor Castle for four days before the 2018 nuptials after discovering that none of the six bridesmaids dresses made by French fashion house Givenchy fitted.

Mirpuri, 45, who has a showroom in London’s West End, said she felt it was a shame that the look of the young bridesmaids, including Princess Charlotte, that day had been overshadowed by reports. about the fight between Meghan and Kate.

“If something happened in the background, it didn’t happen in front of me,” the tailor said today.

“But yes, weddings are stressful at the best of times, and especially one at this high level; you have to respect that.

“They faced a problem like anyone at a wedding, with last-minute setbacks.

I can understand why someone would get upset if the dresses don’t fit well, it’s stressful.

“I feel sorry for all of them, because you wouldn’t want kids going out on a big stage in a dress that didn’t fit them, and that’s what they were.

‘We had to fix the dresses for the six bridesmaids, and we did.

“I am a realist and I wanted to do as much as possible with my small business to serve the royal family.

“We just put our heads down and said, ‘Now that we’re here, we’ve got to fix it so that the day Britain comes out right.’

‘If this book hadn’t come out, no one would have known it was us. But if it saved the day, it saved the day, and good luck to them.

‘I won’t say that it bothers me, but in all that big event, this [the row] is the most talked about, it should be the fact that [the bridesmaids] it looked fabulous.

Mirpuri was speaking for the first time about her role, after Prince Harry detailed in his book Spare, officially published today, his and Meghan’s version of the dispute with the Duchess of Cambridge over dresses.

The Prince remains angry that initial reports of the argument centered on Kate being left in tears. There have been several different versions over the years of who made whom cry.

Now, Harry has said it was Meghan he found ‘on the floor sobbing’.

According to her account, four days before the May 2018 wedding, Kate texted Meghan about her daughter, Princess Charlotte, crying because her dress was “too big, too long, too baggy.”

A brief exchange ensued in which Meghan said a tailor, named by Harry only as Ajay, had been “waiting all day” at Kensington Palace to make alterations.

Speaking at her Mirpuri Bespoke showroom in London’s New Bond Street, Mirpuri said there was a huge amount of work to be done on the dresses just days before the Windsor Castle wedding was set to be televised globally.

The dresses were created, like the wedding dress, by British designer Clare Waight Keller, Givenchy’s artistic director. But they were made, it seems, only from measurements and without repeated adjustments.

The other bridesmaids were Harry’s goddaughter Florence van Cutsem, Rylan and Remi Litt, daughters of Meghan’s close friends, Ivy Mulroney, daughter of Canadian hairstylist Jessica Mulroney, the unofficial bridesmaid, and Zalie Warren, another of Harry’s goddaughters and the youngest of the troop, who was only two years old at the time.

“I have no idea what measurements Givenchy received, but with our experience and knowledge we could see immediately that all six bridesmaids’ dresses needed to be mended as they weren’t going to fit,” said Mr Mirpuri.

‘We had to work tooth and nail for four days, four of us working until 4 am three nights in a row, to get them right.

“We left Windsor Castle at 10pm the night before the wedding. Did anyone complain that day about the bridesmaids’ dresses and how they looked? The answer is no.’

Mr. Mirpuri has worked for Meghan several times, as well as other members of the royal house, as well as the famous Elton John, Michael Caine and Mariah Carey.

When asked what he charged, he replied, “I won’t divulge that, or who paid the bill.” I can’t say it was four or five figures. But whoever made the mistake paid the bill.

Givenchy did not respond to a request for comment.
