Eerie final act before little boy was allegedly killed by Taekwondo instructor in Parramatta

A Taekwondo instructor accused of a shocking triple murder in Sydney’s west had given an alleged seven-year-old victim a black belt hours earlier.

The boy and 41-year-old Min ‘Sue’ Cho were allegedly strangled at Lion’s Taekwondo and Martial Arts Studio in North Parramatta by 49-year-old Kwang Kyung Yoo on February 21 between 6pm and 11pm.

Police allege Yoo then drove Ms. Cho’s own car, a white BMW X5 SUV, to her Baulkham Hills mansion, where he allegedly stabbed her husband, 39-year-old Hyun Soo “Steven” Cho.

Police allege Yoo then showered in an ensuite bathroom on Chos’ Watkins Rd property, put on clothing belonging to Mr Cho and left, reports The Daily Telegraph.

It is alleged that Yoo then drove to his own home in North Kellyville, but arrived with what police believe were self-inflicted stab wounds to his chest, which he said resulted from an argument in a supermarket parking lot.

At his wife’s insistence, he went to Westmead Hospital where he underwent surgery and was later arrested and kept under police guard.

A relative of Ms. Cho, who was at the family compound on Thursday, told the newspaper that her devastated relatives had traveled from South Korea and were making funeral preparations for the three alleged victims.

“It’s still such a big shock for them,” a neighbor translated.

It is understood the funerals will take place next week.

The three bodies were found when Mr Cho’s mother contacted police after being unable to reach them.

Police then visited the Baulkham Hills estate where they found Mr Cho and then tracked Ms Cho’s phone to the taekwondo studio where they found her and the boy.

The police investigation is still ongoing and detectives have not confirmed an alleged motive, but it is believed they are keeping a close eye on the relationships between Yoo and his alleged victims.

He remains in police custody and has not yet entered a plea.

Police prosecutors will have to serve Yoo and his lawyers with a brief in evidence by April 16, and the case will go to trial two days later.
