T.J. Holmes introduces lovebirds Amy Robach and husband Andrew Shue as ‘favorite people’ in GMA clip

What a difference a year makes.

Smiling for the camera, TJ Holmes delivered what he described as “a love story like no other,” featuring, he said, “two of my favorite people on the planet”: Amy Robach and her husband Andrew Shue.

DailyMail.com discovered a GMA3 segment filmed in October 2021, when Robach, 49, and Shue, 55, were promoting the children’s book they co-wrote.

“Better Together,” the gushing couple explained, was inspired by their own love story and the experience of merging their families: Robach’s two daughters from his first marriage and Shue’s three sons from his own previous union.

It was a ‘sweet tale about finding common ground and accepting and appreciating each other’s differences’.

Viewers have pointed out the bitter irony that the interview was conducted by the man now exposed as Robach’s lover. She and Shue sat next to each other as Holmes addressed the camera, describing Shue as “a dear, dear friend,” before introducing a short video recounting the romance.

Holmes said: “Although they’re having fun here and they can smile and laugh and hug and kiss, these are two people who got together, both divorced, and also, she had two girls, he had three sons, and that’s the family reunited. It wasn’t always easy, but now here they are.

A short video followed in which Robach and Shue recounted how they settled in at a book party and, Shue said, pretty soon they were “nose to nose” comparing stories about their families.

They met the next day; within five months they were engaged, and within ten months they were married. It would turn out to be a fairy tale in search of a happy ending.

Returning to the studio with a laugh, Robach seemed a little embarrassed by the sentimental images, quipping, “Does anyone need an insulin shot?” while Holmes could be heard saying, ‘Yuk.’

Concluding the segment, Holmes and Shue joked with each other, with Holmes saying, “I see you all the time.” It’s good to have you in the studio, my friend.

In a love that is now uncomfortable to watch, Shue responded by addressing both Holmes and his wife: “I’m so proud of you.” This is an incredible show and you guys do it.’

In a series of photos published by DailyMail.com last week, Robach and Holmes were seen holding hands in an Uber, laughing together in a New York bar and enjoying a weekend at a romantic country house in the upstate.

The relationship precipitated the end of Robach’s marriage to Shue and Holmes’s to 44-year-old attorney Marilee Fiebig.

However, for a while it looked as though Holmes and Robach might blatantly, without addressing the scandal when they returned to screens at GMA3 the following day.
