T.J. Holmes introduces lovebirds Amy Robach and husband Andrew Shue as ‘favorite people’ in GMA clip

What a difference a year makes.

Smiling for the camera, TJ Holmes delivered what he described as “a love story like no other,” featuring, he said, “two of my favorite people on the planet”: Amy Robach and her husband Andrew Shue.

DailyMail.com discovered a GMA3 segment filmed in October 2021, when Robach, 49, and Shue, 55, were promoting the children’s book they co-wrote.

“Better Together,” the gushing couple explained, was inspired by their own love story and the experience of merging their families: Robach’s two daughters from his first marriage and Shue’s three sons from his own previous union.

It was a ‘sweet tale about finding common ground and accepting and appreciating each other’s differences’.

Viewers have pointed out the bitter irony that the interview was conducted by the man now exposed as Robach’s lover. She and Shue sat next to each other as Holmes addressed the camera, describing Shue as “a dear, dear friend,” before introducing a short video recounting the romance.

Holmes said: “Although they’re having fun here and they can smile and laugh and hug and kiss, these are two people who got together, both divorced, and also, she had two girls, he had three sons, and that’s the family reunited. It wasn’t always easy, but now here they are.

A short video followed in which Robach and Shue recounted how they settled in at a book party and, Shue said, pretty soon they were “nose to nose” comparing stories about their families.

They met the next day; within five months they were engaged, and within ten months they were married. It would turn out to be a fairy tale in search of a happy ending.

Returning to the studio with a laugh, Robach seemed a little embarrassed by the sentimental images, quipping, “Does anyone need an insulin shot?” while Holmes could be heard saying, ‘Yuk.’

Concluding the segment, Holmes and Shue joked with each other, with Holmes saying, “I see you all the time.” It’s good to have you in the studio, my friend.

In a love that is now uncomfortable to watch, Shue responded by addressing both Holmes and his wife: “I’m so proud of you.” This is an incredible show and you guys do it.’

Holmes continued: “He look, he’s a fan”, and bragged: “See, I told everyone that I would deliver the special guest that we have.” I’m Andrew Shue. It’s good to have you here, man.

Holmes, 45, has not spoken publicly since DailyMail.com broke the news of her affair with Robach last week.

But yesterday, a weary-looking Robach told DailyMail.com: “It’s over.” The presenter was speaking as she walked her goldendoodle Brody, and while it was unclear if she was referring to the furor that had erupted around her or the relationship that started it all, both seemed to be taking their toll.

In a series of photos published by DailyMail.com last week, Robach and Holmes were seen holding hands in an Uber, laughing together in a New York bar and enjoying a weekend at a romantic country house in the upstate.

The relationship precipitated the end of Robach’s marriage to Shue and Holmes’s to 44-year-old attorney Marilee Fiebig.

However, for a while it looked as though Holmes and Robach might blatantly, without addressing the scandal when they returned to screens at GMA3 the following day.

Holmes seemed unfazed, joking on Friday’s show that it had been “a great week.”

He said, ‘You know, it’s a shame it’s Friday. It’s been a great week’, a comment that drew laughter from Robach, who replied: ‘Is it?’

Enthusing about his theme, Holmes continued: “I just want this one to go on and on and on.” Just enjoy it. Accept it all.

“Speak for yourself,” Robach said. ‘I’m excited for the weekend. And I’m sure everyone else is too.

But reality couldn’t be ignored after revelations emerged that Holmes had had a previous affair with married ABC producer Natasha Singh.

The fact that Singh was one of Robach’s best friends only compounded the impact of Holmes’s three-year relationship with her, which lasted from 2016 to 2019.

After that bombshell, network executives decided to suspend the co-hosts “indefinitely.”

Their seats on Monday were taken by ABC’s national correspondent Stephanie Ramos and transportation correspondent Gio Benitez, who opened the show by telling viewers, “Amy Roach and TJ Holmes have the day off.”

ABC News President Kim Godwin made the announcement during an internal call Monday morning, calling the romance an “internal and external distraction.”

According to TMZ, Godwin told his colleagues: “I want to say that while that relationship is not a violation of company policy, I’ve really taken the last few days to think and work on what I think is best for ABC. News Organization”. .

‘This is something I’m not going to talk about; We’re not going to talk on this call until there’s more to say. I’m asking that we stop whispering in the hallways. You know, we can’t operate on gossip, speculation and rumors. We have to stay focused on work.

“If you think there’s something management needs to know, you can always call HR, or like we said, talk to a manager you trust, if you think there’s something we need to know.”

Meanwhile, DailyMail.com has been told that ABC staff have been left shocked and appalled by the turn of events.

News of Robach and Holmes’s affair had been ‘buzzing’ around the office, but no one, according to a source, expected it to go public in this way.
