The FBI said Thursday afternoon, “The FBI has received credible information about a broad threat to synagogues in NJ.
“We ask that you take all security measures at this time to protect your community and facility.
“We will share more information as soon as possible. Stay vigilant. Call the police in an emergency.’
The Jewish Institute of National Security of America also revealed this afternoon that an extensive phishing and hacking scheme has been carried out by someone claiming to be one of their employees.
Cyber experts determined that the perpetrators were either from Iran’s IRGC or were working under the IRGC’s permission, they said.
It’s unclear if this is the same threat the FBI alluded to.
