Stallone made his debut in the franchise with Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, in which he played Stakar Ogord, better known as Starhawk.

He played the leader of a group of space pirates who was once a friend of Michael Rooker’s character Yondu, the adoptive father/merchant of Peter Quill (Pratt).

Although Yondu was expelled from the group for his trafficking of a child, Stallone’s character attended his funeral in the second volume after giving up his life to save Peter.

The new teaser begins with Pratt’s character on the bridge of a ship as he gloomily recounts a dream he had to his comrades.

“I dreamed last night about when we first met,” he says as images from the previous Guardians movies flash on screen.

‘We were criminals. Friends. And then we became Guardians.’

We are Groot,’ he shouts as he shoots.

Chukwudi Iwuji is revealed as the film’s main villain, the High Evolutionary. His organic face appears to be glued onto some kind of robotic skeleton and he attempts to transform all living things into hybrid beings.

He is also responsible for creating the genetically modified Rocket, who speaks and acts like a human despite being a raccoon at heart.

“It’s time to say goodbye,” he says menacingly to Peter during a face-to-face confrontation.

“It’s a face-off,” Peter says then, before adding, “I think we’ll die trying.”

The teaser ends with a humorous scene that takes place on what appears to be Earth, but it’s populated with humanoid creatures that resemble animals.

Peter tries to start a decades-old car, but it stutters forward and runs over a bunch of garbage cans.
