Any ideas Sylvester Stallone might have had about having a quiet time with his family in Rome, Italy, sightseeing and shopping ended shortly after the first of many people recognized him on the street.
On Wednesday, the Hollywood legend stepped out to enjoy the sights with his wife Jennifer Flavin and their daughters Sophie, Scarlett and Sistine as part of their late summer holiday.
And it wasn’t long before fans started gathering around them, causing quite a commotion as they tried to walk from one street to another and browse storefronts.
The family of five seemed to focus on the fashion district of The Eternal City, especially the famous Fashion Triangle, known for its boutiques and shops full of clothing in and around the historic center.
At some point in the afternoon Stallone and his family were swamped by fans and had to push their way through the growing crowd, which was partially documented in a video posted to his Instagram page.

Shopping fun: Sylvester Stallone, 77, and wife Jennifer Flavin, 55, were all smiles during a day of shopping and sightseeing in Rome, Italy that started quietly but eventually turned into a huge crowd looking for a peek and a photo of the Hollywood legend
The Rocky star, 77, looked slim and fit, dressed casually in skin-tight jeans, a black t-shirt and matching sneakers.
He also often wore cool, dark sunglasses when out in public, and kept his salt-and-pepper hair cut short, over his ears, and styled away from his face.
Flavin, 55, spent most of her time at her husband’s side and looked stylish in a pair of tight white pants, which she wore with a white top and an off-white blazer.
To complete her overall look, the former model wore sandals and dark sunglasses and had her lighter tresses pulled back away from her face into a ponytail, except for a few strands of hair that she left dangling around her face.
While shopping, Flavin and her girls spent a good chunk of time looking at the various luxury purses and bags.
But eventually they took to the streets again, where a small group of fans had grown into a huge crowd looking for a closer look and a photo of the legendary actor.
A video on Instagram showed the couple, including his brother Frank Stallone, getting an escort among the lines of people shouting and screaming as they took photos and videos.
“A quiet afternoon of shopping with the family,” the Rambo star joked in the caption, before adding, “Love the fans, love this country.”

At one point in the clip, the camera turns away from Stallone and toward the crowd that continued to grow in every direction of the fashion district.
Despite all the chaos, it didn’t seem to bother Stallone and Flavin, who both had smiles on their faces as they were led past all the adoring fans to their next destination.
The visit to Rome appears to be part business and part pleasure for the Stallones, who had their own cameras following them around on certain days as part of filming for The Family Stallone.
It looks like all the new footage from their Italian getaway will be part of the second season of their reality show that focuses on the couple and their adult daughters Sophia, 27, Sistine, 25, and Scarlet, 21.
