ABC host Jeremy Fernandez says he’s ‘going to some of the parties’ while hosting Sydney WorldPride coverage, but ‘can’t get too crazy’
He is one of ABC’s highest profile anchors.
And newscaster Jeremy Fernandez says he plans to combine work and play this weekend as he covers Sydney WorldPride for the public network.
Fernandez said tv tonight on Thursday he feels part of the LGBTQIA+ community and plans to go to some parties between broadcast functions.
However, his on-air duties mean he won’t “go too crazy.”
‘But there could be a little barbecue at my house afterwards to wrap it all up and tie things into a neat bow!’ he said.

Fernández told TV Tonight on Thursday that she feels part of the LGBTQIA+ community and plans to go to a few parties in between broadcast assignments.
The journalist will co-host Friday’s Live and Proud Sydney WorldPride concert, starring Kylie Minogue (pictured) and Jessica Mauboy, starting at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

And on Saturday, Fernández will hit the streets as one of ABC’s roving reporters for the Mardi Gras Gay and Lesbian Parade.
ABC’s team for parade coverage includes ABC News Breakfast’s Nate Byrne, Behind the News’ Jack Evans and ABC Queer’s Mon Schafter.
Actor Zindzi Okenyo and comedian Mel Buttle will join Fernández to cover the action from the street.
“I’m so excited about it,” Fernandez told TV Tonight.
“The atmosphere in Sydney is so vibrant, and it’s almost like you’re afraid of missing out because there’s so much going on.

“I feel that way at work too, it’s early in the morning and late at night, but I love everything about it.”
He said he was especially looking forward to covering the world-famous parade, adding that the coverage was a positive and uplifting experience.
