A no-nonsense tram driver has been caught on camera confronting a passenger who had forcibly reopened the tram doors as they closed at a stop.
In a video recorded on the Sydney Light Rail network and shared on social media, the driver was captured sharply shouting at the passenger.
“You’re holding everyone back,” the driver said.
The passenger tried to justify opening the door, claiming his bag was stuck inside.
But the driver responded with a sharp lesson.
“The door closed and you pulled it open.”
The passenger realized his mistake and eventually admitted his guilt.

The driver shot back, “Hopefully this teaches you,” before slamming the driver’s compartment door shut.
Many Aussies praised the tram driver for his no-nonsense attitude.
“This is the type of person we need when we board a plane,” said one.
“Tearing down on the people who take things out of their bags after finding their seats, while everyone waits and watches behind them.”
A second added: ‘Well done to him. People have so much right to it these days.’
