Sydney trains to be hit with more delays in bad news for commuters – what you need to do

The massive delays, cancellations and chaos that Sydney rail passengers experienced on Wednesday are likely to continue on Thursday and Friday.

And for those who have even arrived at work on Wednesday morning, the afternoon commute will be an even worse ordeal.

“The advice we are receiving, particularly from the Electrical Trades Union, is that there will be no movement tonight due to their work bans, and that these types of delays that we have seen today will continue into the early hours of tomorrow,” says Sydney. Trains CEO Matt Longland said.

“So we’re asking everyone to plan ahead. If you have to travel tomorrow, stay up to date with the latest information.

‘Use the travel apps to look at other forms of public transport that may be suitable to ensure you can complete your journey as efficiently as possible.’

Mr Longland said if maintenance work in Gosford is not completed this evening as planned, there could be further delays on the Central Coast line on Thursday.

The train journey home on Wednesday afternoon and evening is likely to be worse than this morning, with more than 1,000 services canceled this evening.
