Sydney train video shows a hero in a black cap stopping one man’s tirade at a woman and her friend

A viral social media video shows the harrowing moment a man appears to racially abuse a woman on a train, before another commuter came to her rescue by intervening,

In the video the irate man is seen on a busy, night-time train headed for the Sydney CBD who begins verbally attacking two young female commuters.

The girls leave their seats while the man angrily yells and points his fingers at them.

The man, decked out in wrap sunglasses, fingerless gloves and a cap, makes a series of incoherent remarks to one of the women.

Her friend then steps between her and the man, telling him not to talk to her in such a manner.

The man becomes increasingly agitated as other commuters visibly freeze in their places.

One man in a black baseball cap, however, walks between the man and the girls, insisting the women take his seat.

‘Let me sit there,’ he says, taking up the seat behind the riled-up passenger.

The man in sunglasses continues to yell, waving madly and pointing at other passengers.

He then screams ‘police’ multiple times, to which another passenger replied, ‘yeah, you’re gonna see them’.

The disagreeable passenger then yelled after the two girls as they walked away, saying what appears to be: ‘Get the f*** away before I smack your f***ing neck in.’

The man in the baseball cap then tells him simply, ‘you’re not going to smack anyone’.

The man is then heard telling passengers they’re all under arrest, before telling the girls to ‘f*** (their) god, f*** Islamic and your corruption, you b****,’  seemingly assuming the girls are Muslims.

‘You’re not, you’re not, you’re not going to do nothing. Shut up. You’re not going to do nothing,’ the man who intervened says.

‘I’m gonna…’ the troubled passenger begins, but the man in the black cap stops him again.

‘No, no, no, no, you’re going to respect everyone here,’ he says.

The man in the black cap then bears the brunt of the passenger’s continuing rant, sitting behind him to keep him in check for the rest of the ride.

‘I have seen this exact same guy on a train to Central recently, he was swearing and carrying on in the same way. . so irritating he’s allowed to keep getting on trains and behaving like a w***er,’ one person commented on the original post.

‘He must be doing the rounds because someone else here spotted him kicking off at Hornsby station,’ said another.

Other viewers also reported having encountered the angry man from the video, with many hypothesising he sadly suffered from PTSD or was afflicted by severe drug addiction.

Commenters were quick to congratulate the mysterious man in the black cap who intervened.

‘The people who intervened and told him what’s what and diffused the volatile situation, you are the real legends,’ one wrote.

‘Thanks for that bigger dude standing up and then sitting down and keeping a very obvious presence. He kept everything okay,’ wrote another grateful commuter.

‘Props to the guy in the black hat. Well done, Sir,’ wrote another.
