Sydney Train passengers are experiencing major delays and service disruptions following an early morning strike.
The strike by members of the Railway, Tram and Bus Union took place at 3am and lasted just five minutes, but caused major disruptions across the train network.
All major rail lines in Sydney are affected. Thousands of commuters heading to work are being warned to expect longer wait times and disruptions between services.
Commuters are urged to check the Transport NSW website for live updates and allow additional travel time.
“Train stops and platforms may change at short notice and some trains may be cancelled,” Sydney Trains said in a statement.
‘In some cases there may be additional travel time and you may need to transfer to continue your journey.
‘Consider using underground services between Epping, Chatswood, Central and Sydenham as an alternative.’
