Transport chaos in Sydney as all peak hour trains heading west are affected by major failure

  • Sydney’s western lines have been discontinued
  • ‘Urgent repairs’ are underway in Granville

A signal failure on Sydney’s train network has caused massive delays during rush hour.

Commuters rushing to get home on Thursday afternoon were warned that services to and from the west of the city would remain stuck at Central Station ‘until urgent repairs are carried out’.

“Trains are currently at a standstill and unable to pass through Granville due to urgent signal repairs,” Transport New South Wales said in a statement to police. Daily Telegraph.

“Technicians are currently en route to the affected area to resolve the issue

‘Postpone non-essential travel and use alternative transport to complete your journey.’

Blue Mountains, Cumberland and Western Lines are affected.
