Sydney Sweeney issues hilarious response to viral College GameDay sign

Actress and heartthrob Sydney Sweeney made a witty comeback Saturday as an overzealous college football mascot.

Before Ohio State’s showdown against Oregon, the latter’s popular Duck mascot was seen on ESPN’s College GameDay holding up a sign that read, “Sydney Sweeney call me back.”

The actress then responded on social media. On her Instagram Story, Sweeney posted a photo of a TV with the Duck holding his sign.

‘Sorry. I changed my number haha,” Sweeney wrote.

Users took to social media to share their reactions to Sweeney’s response, most of which foreshadowed a win for the Ducks.

“Oregon wins tonight,” said one user, while another wrote, “Oregon vs. 50.”

The 5-0 Ducks are gearing up for a big game against the 5-0 Buckeyes. The teams are ranked No. 3 and No. 2 in the country, respectively.

The Buckeyes posted dominant wins over the course of their season with a 52-6 win over Akron and a 56-0 win over Western Michigan to start the season. They then followed it up with a 49-14 win over Marshall, a 38-7 win over Michigan State and a 35-7 win over Iowa.

On the other hand, Oregon — who recently joined the Big Ten — comes into Saturday’s game with much closer wins.

The Ducks defeated Idaho, Boise State, Oregon State, UCLA and Michigan State. The third-place team defeated each opponent 24-14, 37-34, 49-14, 34-13 and 31-10 respectively.

While the mascot tried to get the Euphoria star’s attention, the College GameDay crew was split 3-3 in naming their horse in the race.

Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Kaitlin Olson favor the Ducks. Meanwhile, Nick Saban, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbsreit are supporting Ohio State.
