Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have been tapped to star opposite each other in a new romantic comedy from Sony Pictures.

The 25-year-old star, best known for her role as Cassie Howard in Euphoria, and the 34-year-old actor will play love interests in the currently untitled film directed by Will Gluck, according to Deadline.

The R-rated feature is based on a script written by Ilana Wolpert that Gluck is rewriting.

Gluck will produce with Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum as part of his deal with Sony and his company Olive Bridge Entertainment.

The Everything Sucks actress will also executive produce for Fifty-Fifty Films, with Natalie Sellers and Alyssa Altman joining RK Films.

The deal closed at the end of 2022 with shooting to begin at the end of February.

The coming year for the Spokane, Washington-born star is a busy year as he has signed on for multiple projects.

In 2023, the White Lotus star will be seen in the Sony/Marvel film Madame Web, followed by The Registration and Barbarella.

He will also produce a television adaptation of The Players Table, based on Jessica Goodman’s novel They Wish They Were Us.

As for Powell, the new film featuring the blue-eyed beauty will mark her return to rom-coms, after starring in Set It Up opposite Zoey Deutch.

Last year, he appeared in Top Gun: Maverick before joining Sony as an executive producer on Devotion.

He will next be seen in Universal’s sci-fi thriller Attachment X, and will later work with Nick Jonas on External Relations.

Gluck also has an exciting slate for the foreseeable future, including an action comedy called End of the World.
