Emma Lyon, wife of Australian cricketer Nathan Lyon, also posted “Congratulations! She is beautiful”. Emma is also rumored to have recently given birth to the couple’s first child.

Off the field it has been a big year for Tedesco after he married Maria in the NSW Hunter Valley on January 7 before announcing they were expecting in April.

It comes after the Roosters crashed out of the NRL finals prematurely after only reaching the top eight in the final despite being early season favorites to win the competition.

The Roosters slumped to a 7-10 start as a series of injuries, suspensions and poor form left them as low as 14th on the ladder, before ultimately losing to Melbourne in the second week of the NRL finals.

Tedesco previously admitted the Sydney Roosters’ pre-season favoritism placed an unwanted weight on the team’s shoulders as their first half of 2023 spiraled.

At the beginning of the year there was a lot of expectation and pressure to perform,” said Tedesco.

‘We probably held onto that for a while, like a burden on our shoulders.

“Maybe because of the pre-season signings and how our team looked on paper, I think that’s why everyone had us at the top.

‘Maybe we believed that without really working for it. I’m not saying we didn’t work for it, but it’s not just because of the team that you can think things are going to happen.

“You have to work for the team, do the little things well and that’s how victories will come.”
