Sydney Roosters firefighter Victor Radley has been hit with a three-game suspension for headbutting Dragons forward Blake Lawrie after a fiery night of Friday night footy.

The England representative somehow escaped the sin bin, despite what appeared to be a headbutt to his Dragons rival during the Roosters’ Friday night clash in round 12.

Dragons players, including captain Ben Hunt, protested to referee Peter Gough, pointing to the big screen playing the incident.

Despite their pleas, Radley was only put on report and remained on the field while the Roosters were even penalized for an incident involving Zac Lomax that led to the headbutt.

Radley will now miss three games with an early plea, rising to four games if he fights the charges and is found guilty by the court.

With his team trailing 12 points midway through the first half, tempers flared near the Dragons’ tryline when a scuffle broke out between the players and Radley took center stage.

Lomax was reported for a head-slam play prior to the scuffle, but replays showed Radley poking his head into Lawrie in the middle of the fight.

An enraged Ben Hunt said to the referee, “How did you not see that?” when reruns were shown on the big screen – and the officer duly put Radley on report, but chose not to send him to the bin.

“He should go buy a lottery ticket,” Andrew Voss said on Fox League. “There’s a chair with his name on it in the sin box, but he dodged a bullet there.”

Greg Alexander said, “Well, he led with the head. The vision is there. Did we stop sinning people this week? Every other day Victor is sinned.’
