  • A creepy rental listing was looking for a woman to share a small unit
  • The person would not need to pay rent but would have to clean
  • Unit has mattress per bed and is missing doors

A disturbing rental ad invited a woman to share a one-bedroom unit in exchange for a mattress on the floor for a bed, no bathroom door, and multiple locks on the front door.

Small business owner Rachel McQueen, who regularly posts videos of suspicious rental listings, posted a clip on Tik Tok analyzing the strange Facebook Marketplace ad.

The listing was for a one-bedroom unit in Granville, western Sydney, where the current occupant is looking for a woman to live with him for free in exchange for teaching him English.

“Hello friends, I need to learn English so I am looking for a woman who (sic) except (sic) lives with me in my one bedroom unit to benefit from having a conversation with her,” the ad reads.

TikTok user Rachael McQueen (pictured), who regularly posts about shady real estate listings, shared a clip of a disturbing rental listing for a one-bedroom unit in Granville, Sydney’s west.

“This (list) is for all my true crime fans,” Ms. McQueen says in her video.

‘This could be innocent, but it also could not be, so let’s guess what’s going on here. This room is free, but it is included in the Facebook Marketplace, so it is not regulated at all.

After reading the listing’s description, Ms. McQueen states that the occupant also wants a woman to provide “comfort”.

“I have screenshots of someone asking about this property and they expect you to keep it clean in exchange for staying there and they also said the reason they want a woman is to ‘comfort themselves’,” he continues.

“We don’t know if that’s a language barrier or if they meant it literally.”

He then shows various pictures of the interior of the apartment.

A picture of the bedroom shows a single mattress on the floor next to the occupant’s bed, blocking a door at the rear of the room.

Photos of the kitchen reveal that there is no door separating the kitchen from the bedroom, with the occupant using a shower curtain instead.

A shower curtain has also been used instead of a door for the bathroom, while the bathroom shower, interestingly, has a glass door instead of a curtain.

The ad photos show a mattress on the floor for a bed, shower curtains for the doors, and multiple locks on the front door.

A puzzling image of the kitchen shows the front door with multiple locks.

“I understand that these locks are on the inside and not on the outside, so they don’t prevent you from escaping, but we don’t know what’s on the other side of that door and this still gives me the feeling that I am.” I’m not very comfortable with that,’ says Ms. McQueen.

This door could be an indication of many things. It could be about the safety of the area, it could be about the paranoia of the person who lives in the apartment, it could be about the safety of the woman who will sleep on the floor of this apartment like a dog while acting like one. person’s partner.

One viewer commented: ‘The sad part is that someone will take this offer to avoid being homeless. The government must hurry up and ban the use of Airbnb in suburban areas.”

Another said: ‘Where in the world is it okay to post this as a place to stay? I want to know. I’m curious.’

Ms McQueen claims that the police have been informed about the announcement.

The rental listing has since been removed from Facebook Marketplace.
