Sydney real estate agent threatened by man after he abused his brother at a cafe with gay slurs

A man stormed into a top real estate agency and threatened to ‘kill’ the boss by accusing him of verbally berating his brother with homosexual comments in a cafe earlier that day.

Ryan Bell, 38, confronted Mohammad Mahinul Abedin, director of Innerwest Property, in his Homebush, Sydney office last Wednesday.

Mr. Abedin can be seen on CCTV footage sitting at a desk in the real estate office when Mr. Bell walks in and rings the bell.

“Have you just been to the cafe?” asks Mr. Bell as he walks up to him. ‘Did you just call my brother poof?

“That’s my brother, did you call him af***ot?”

Mr Bell pushes the broker as he tries to get up before threatening to kill him. Mr Bell was given a restraining order and charged with assault in this case

Mr Abedin, who turns his seat towards Mr Bell before approaching, tries to respond before being interrupted.

“If you ever fucking get in there, you’re fucking dead,” Mr. Bell says.

“Don’t ever walk in that damn place again. You’re lucky I don’t fucking hit you on the head, now you stupid bastard.’

Mr. Abedin tries to get up before Mr. Bell angrily pushes him back into his chair and tells him to ‘sit down’.

He then threatens the real estate agent and says, “I swear to God I’ll kill you.”

Bell was charged with assault and appeared before the Burwood Local Court on Thursday, when the case was adjourned to October 27.

He was given a restraining order ordering him not to come within 50 yards of Mr Abedin.

Bell acted after a confrontation between Mr. Abedin and Bell’s brother, who worked as a waiter at the family-run café Bar Cortona.

The waiter is said to have been so traumatized by the incident that he has not been able to work since the confrontation

One would have seen on camera Mr Abedin calling the waiter a ‘f***ing f***ot’ and a ‘d***head’ and his family ‘white trash’.

The waiter, who doesn’t want to be named, can hear police yelling for help to end the confrontation – but the verbal barbs continued.

‘Absolute f***ot. Look at his eyes. You’re playing with the wrong person,” the person who would be Mr. Abedin told the waiter.

The barista can be heard saying to the police, ‘I have a very abusive person in my father’s cafe who calls me horribly… he just yells obscenities.’

Mr Abedin is said to have told the waiter to tell the police that he ‘also calls you ad***head’.

The collision was filmed by a customer who posted the footage on social media.

The argument is said to have broken out after the waiter was clearing the cafe’s outside tables and accidentally sprayed the angry customer’s hand

The waiter is so traumatized by last Wednesday’s incident that he has been unable to work a full shift since the confrontation.

“It just makes me so nervous,” he told Daily Mail Australia. “I’m terrified he’ll come back in and it’ll all explode again. It just got out of hand.

“I feel nauseous every day. I just isolate myself and [not] want to leave the apartment.’

The argument is said to have started after the waiter was clearing the cafe’s outdoor tables and accidentally sprayed the customer.

Mr Abedin also accused the waiter of touching his hand – both allege the waiter denies.

The police are investigating.
