Three children are being treated in hospital after suspected chemical exposure after visiting an indoor public swimming pool in Sydney.
Paramedics were called to the swimming center on Hoxton Park Rd in Prestons in the city’s west about 4pm on Friday. Multiple police, fire and hazmat teams were also present.
It is understood seven children and three adults were treated by paramedics at the pool, but only three of the children were subsequently taken to hospital.

Fire and Rescue NSW Chief Inspector Adam Dewberry told 2GB’s Chris O’Keefe that two chemicals had been accidentally mixed together, which was not the intention.
“Two chemicals related to chlorination and cleaning of swimming pools were mixed together, which should not have happened,” he said.
“They have created a toxic and nasty fume.”
In addition to the ten people with symptoms, approximately twenty more staff and visitors were evacuated as a precaution.
Firefighters are working to dilute the chemicals and safely ventilate the center.
