- He was the cousin of underworld boss Mahmoud Ahmad
Organized crime detectives have charged a third man in the shooting of 23-year-old Rami Iskander in southwest Sydney.
Police say Jamal Salameh, 29, was involved in supplying the cars used in last year’s gangland hit.
Iskander, the nephew of slain underworld heavyweight Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad, was shot in the driveway of his home in Belmore in the early hours of May 14 and died at the scene.
Two gunmen reportedly shot and killed Mr Iskander before two burned-out vehicles were found in the nearby suburbs of Croydon Park and Bexley North.
Two days later, police launched Taskforce Erebus to investigate a spate of deadly shootings and criminal activity by organized crime networks across Sydney.
A third man has been arrested over the shooting death of 23-year-old Rami Iskander (pictured) last year in southwest Sydney, near Belmore.
Erebus detectives arrested Salameh at around 6:40 am on Tuesday at Marrickville police station over the death of Mr Iskander.
He was later charged with complicity in murder, participation in a criminal group that contributed to criminal activity, and using a false document to obtain property.
Salameh is already being charged for his alleged involvement in supplying vehicles to the shooting of Mr Iskander’s uncle, Mahmoud ‘Brownie’ Ahmad, which took place two weeks earlier.
He was later taken to Campsie police station while detectives were carrying out search warrants at homes in Canterbury, Roselands and Kingsgrove.
At those premises, the police seized cash, mobile phones, ammunition and a luxury watch.
Salameh was denied bail and appeared in Bankstown court on Tuesday.

It comes after a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged last December in the death of Mr Iskander.
The man was handcuffed in Sydney’s CBD and charged with complicity in murder and concealment of a serious crime.
Police claimed in court that he provided direct assistance to individuals involved in the post-murder incident.
A 42-year-old man was the first man to be charged with the shooting in October.
Both men remain in court.

Mr Iskander’s uncle, Ahmad, also known as Sydney’s ‘Mr Big’, was shot dead on April 27 in a suburb of Greenacre, in the southwest of the city.
Ahmad was leaving a friend’s house when he was riddled with bullets.
Raptor Squad police patrolling the area performed CPR with a vision of the harrowing scene of ‘Mr Big’ fighting for his life, but they were unable to revive him.
Four men have been charged with their alleged involvement in the murder and continue to appear in court.
