An Aussie confronted a parking inspector as he was handing out a ticket… he never could have anticipated the response after sharing the footage online

An Australian has sparked backlash after filming himself confronting a parking inspector and calling him a dirty name.

Calum Fentie posted the footage on TikTok, showing how he approached the inspector, who works for the Northern Beaches Council, in Sydney on Friday.

The video, which has since been removed from the social media platform and shared elsewhere, showed Mr Fentie asking the inspector what he was doing.

The inspector explained that he was issuing a ticket for a car that did not belong to Mr. Fentie because the vehicle did not have a parking permit or ticket.

“Did you just wake up one day and think, ‘I’m going to be the biggest asshole in the world?’ asked Mr. Fentie.

The confused inspector said it was ‘none of your business’ before walking away to continue his work.

The footage was shared on social media platform X, where Aussies were quick to shout out Mr Fentie.

One described Mr Fentie as an ‘A-grade peanut’ as he praised the inspector for handling himself ‘beautifully’.

“The guy is just doing his job, the cameraman is just fucking bullying people,” wrote a second.

“Parking inspectors have the highest abuse rate of any workplace,” wrote a third.

“Leave that poor guy alone, he’s got to get by somehow.”

“If the ticket and fine are not legal, you (or) they can dispute it, but abusing the person for doing their job, trying to lure them while a camera is in their face is called ‘hole behavior,'” said a fourth. .

A fifth noted that Mr Fentie was ‘a bit rough’ with the parking inspector, despite the general opinion of those taking on the role.

“Some parking inspectors like the power trip, but I’m sure most just needed a job and would happily use it for something better if given the chance,” they wrote.

‘What an absolute w***er. If you park illegally, you get a fine, very simple,” says a sixth.

Mr Fentie returned fire, saying he “didn’t expect” the negativity and claiming the images were “just a joke”.

In a video posted on TikTok On Saturday, he described those directing “hate” at him as “pro-vax people… who are just pro-government.”

“If he was so afraid of being called crazy, you know what he would have done? He would not have gotten a job as a parking inspector,” Fentie said.

“If I got a job as a parking inspector, I would 100 percent expect people to come up to me and call me that, but like I said before, it was literally all for laughs.

“I thought it would be funny to call him ridiculous, because it’s funny, and he is.”

He then launched a tirade against the government, saying Australians pay for registration, insurance and parking and are fined if you don’t.

“You should complain that we’re getting fined for parking,” he said.

Mr Fentie said the ‘haters’ had inspired him to get more parking inspectors and make a series of similar videos.

“Just for you, I’m going to find more parking inspectors to call f***wits so you can write more hateful comments,” he said.
