Sydney north shore residents baffled by ‘dramatic’ note left on a car windshield

An angry tirade at a car’s windscreen wiper has left an affluent neighborhood concerned and puzzled by the mysterious ‘loose’ spray.

The 30-word rant, typed in capital letters and attached to a windshield wiper, was shared on the Crows Nest St Ives Community Facebook page, a group for residents of Sydney’s north shore.

“Thank you for letting me know what kind of person you would have been during Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union,” the note reads.

‘It’s always good to know your neighbors (sic).

“Have a nice day.”

Shocked residents were stunned by the level of hate in the message.

“This is really out of control,” one person wrote.

Another wrote: ‘Wow, psychos everywhere.’

This note, left under a car windshield wiper, left members of a local Facebook group concerned and puzzled

A third commented: ‘That’s awful. It says more about the person who wrote the note than it does about the owner of the car.”

‘No words. What a fool,” was another response.

The reason for the note remains unknown.

Many called on the note’s author to “relax.”

“Someone will give themselves high blood pressure and end up having a heart attack,” one local resident wrote.

Others questioned the appropriateness of the historical analogies to murderous dictatorships.

“What’s the rule about losing an argument if you’re the first to mention Hitler or the Nazis?” one person asked before adding that it was “Godwin’s Law.”

Some took the author to task for their spelling and grammatical errors.

“What kind of person goes to the trouble of printing long notes in all caps but doesn’t correct the spelling of ‘neighbors,’” someone commented.

Another added: ‘I don’t want to jump to conclusions… but it looks like someone can’t spell and has poor grammar skills.’

Some were simply curious as to what violation led to such an outburst.

“What have you done?” someone asked.
