Sydney neighbour unleashes after receiving a note from mansion residents: ‘The police are aware’

A heated argument has broken out in one of Sydney’s wealthiest suburbs after a neighbor complained about a wild Halloween party at a run-down mansion set for redevelopment.

The five-bedroom property in Mosman, which sold to developers for $8 million in June last year, features a stunning roof terrace with panoramic views of Balmoral and Manly beaches.

But according to a neighbor, the mansion has since been turned into a “frat house” after being rented out while developers finalized its future.

Ahead of Saturday’s Halloween celebration, residents of the “frat house” distributed notices to nearby homes, warning neighbors of the coming event.

“We are writing to inform you that we will be hosting a gathering tonight in celebration of Halloween,” the note said.

The letter promised that “noise and disruptions would be kept to a minimum out of respect for the surrounding community” and acknowledged the potential inconvenience.

‘The police are aware of this event.

“We understand that it can be disruptive to live next to a home where an event is taking place, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Despite this reassurance, the party continued well past midnight, eventually ending around 2:30 a.m., a neighbor said.

“When an old house is sold for $8 million and becomes a college dorm while developers decide what to do with it,” the frustrated resident said.

The residents had sent handwritten letters to their neighbors (pictured) claiming it had been turned into a student house after it was sold for $8 million last year.

The latest in a series of parties at a house in Mosman, Sydney’s north (pictured) has sparked a neighborhood feud after a local resident said it ‘closed at 2.30am’

Built in 1981, the house was first offered for sale in June 2023 and described as an ‘exceptionally rare opportunity’ to build in an ‘idyllic Balmoral setting’.

‘It’s the ultimate setting for a family lifestyle where a morning swim and stroll along the sands of Balmoral Beach is just 130 yards away,’ the ad says.

A renovated house on the same street sold for a whopping $10.4 million in August this year.
