Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane weekend weather: Warning more rain will strike
Most of Australia will remain dry for the rest of the week as the threat of a cyclone hitting the country’s northeast diminishes significantly.
On Thursday morning, the Bureau of Meteorology reported that Tropical Cyclone Paul, currently east of the Queensland coast, is weakening.
The system is slowly moving northeast towards the Coral Sea and is not expected to make landfall in Queensland.
‘Paul is located more than 1000 km east-northeast of Cairns and does not currently pose an immediate threat to the Australian mainland or any of its external territories,’ Weather zone said meteorologist Ben Domensino.
‘At this stage, Tropical Cyclone Paul should weaken from Friday and is expected to wake below tropical cyclone strength by Saturday.’
