Sydney influencer Suzan Mutesi left humiliated as her $27,000 Mazda breaks down at Fashion Week

The ultimate fashion faux pas: Sydney influencer left dressed in $20 outfit as her $27,000 Mazda breaks down in front of the crowd at Fashion Week and she misses a show

A Sydney influencer was stranded and humiliated at Australian Fashion Week on Tuesday when her car’s battery failed.

Suzan Mutesi, who is accused of buying a large chunk of her 1.2 million Instagram followers, was devastated when she missed a crucial off-site fashion show because her $27,000 Mazda 3 refused to start.

Just minutes before, Mutesi, 36, turned heads at the prestigious event wearing a bold $20 outfit — a matching red and white printed crop top and skirt set.

But her glamorous day soon turned sour when her car became the ultimate fashion faux pas, its engine stalling under the bright lights of Carriageworks.

Wealthy attendees watched in shock as Mutesi, clearly distressed, tried to revive her car, her frustration growing with each failed attempt to start the engine.

The influencer’s plight quickly became the spectacle of the day, with all eyes on the stage – a stark contrast to haute couture on the catwalk.

The dramatic scene came to a head when an NRMA truck pulled up to the site, drawing curious and sympathetic glances from the fashionable crowd.

A roadside assistance service was busy replacing her car’s battery, while Mutesi waited helplessly on the sidelines.

The sighting comes just days after Suzan raised her eyebrows after taking style inspiration from reality star Kylie Jenner.

She posted a photo at a fashion event showing her wearing the same lion stole on her shoulder that Kylie wore at Paris fashion week earlier this year.

However, it looks like Mutesi photoshopped the image, as she was pictured wearing the stole at the event – it didn’t feature a lion’s head like Kylie’s, though.

In the photo she posted to Instagram, the social climbing star can be seen in an off-the-shoulder print dress and on her shoulder is the identical lion head that Kylie donned

Influencer updates saw the Photoshop error and also called Mutesi because in FaceTune her face appeared.

The “sham socialite” has often been berated for photoshopping her snaps to make her lifestyle appear more luxurious than it actually is.

Last year, a contestant from The Challenge posted a photo of herself posing next to a private jet on the tarmac, ready for takeoff.

Still, there are clear signs that the plane was actually parked in a hangar.
