Sydney high school teacher is arrested and charged with child sexual offences

A teacher has been charged with alleged historical sex offences.

New South Wales Police officers arrested a 28-year-old male high school teacher at Auburn police station in Sydney’s west on Tuesday around 12.30pm.

Detectives from the Campbelltown City Police Area Command began investigating the man in July 2023 after reports were received of his alleged actions while he was working as a teacher at a secondary school in Sydney’s south-west in 2020 and 2021.

He was accused of multiple child sex crimes, including three against an alleged victim under his authority.

The man was denied bail and is due to appear in Burwood District Court on Wednesday.
