Sydney Harbour cruise fire: Viking Orion cruise ship evacuated due to fire in three rooms

Fire breaks out on a cruise ship docked in Sydney Harbor with 600 passengers evacuated

  • Three cockpits were lit aboard the Viking Orion
  • Firefighters were called to White Bay at around 8.10am
  • The fire has been extinguished, no one was injured.

Some 600 people have been evacuated from a cruise ship in Sydney Harbor after a fire broke out on board.

Fire and Rescue NSW was called to the White Bay Cruise Terminal around 8:10am on Friday following reports of a fire on the Viking Orion ship.

The fire is understood to have affected three rooms inside the boat.

The fire was extinguished around 8:40 a.m.

Paramedics are on the scene and it is understood that no one was injured during the incident.
