A shadowy cartel known as ‘The Commission’ has warned drug dealers that their families will be targeted if they continue to sell cocaine at a low price.

The standover group recently sent an ominous WhatsApp message to Sydney dealers warning them to ‘play ball and keep prices high and not make mistakes and ruin lives’.

The lyrics – written in capital letters – were undeniably serious in tone and come this year amid a spate of shootings, kidnappings and attacks in the city’s underworld.

‘Everyone is working in NSW. We have written a text in (the) past due to price drops (sic),’ said the message, first published by The Daily Telegraph.

‘This is (a) warning to anyone who is putting work down and screwing up prices in Aus(tralia).’

‘The Commission is going after families, drivers, storage (sic), tt (transfers), legitimate business.’

It concluded: ‘Play with the ball and keep the prices high and don’t make mistakes and don’t ruin lives (sic). Thank you.’

Early last year, the price of drugs began to rise after the Commission imposed a tax on drug shipments entering Sydney.

Last year a text message was sent that read: ‘To ALL the key players in Aus and Abooad doing farm work in Sydney/NSW.

“A Sydney committee will be formed from 2021.”

The post went on to complain that the price of meth had fallen “because there is NO STRUCTURE, no rules, no reasoning…NO SENSE”.

NSW Police claimed that cocaine had risen by $50 per gram to $300 at the time – which they suspect was due to the tax.
