A reportedly disqualified driver miraculously survived after his SUV slammed into the back of a semi-trailer, shattering the roof of his vehicle.

Jackie Chand, 37, was driving a Nissan Murano on Hassall Street in Wetherill Park in western Sydney when he hit a Nissan Navara at about 5.30pm on Sunday.

The Navara driver, 66, tried to get out of Chand’s way but was clipped by his SUV, causing the vehicle to spin with his niece and nephew inside.

After clipping the ute, Chand’s SUV crashed into the back of a parked semi-trailer.

The impact of the collision completely destroyed the roof of his SUV.

But Chand shockingly survived the crash with minor injuries.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital as a precaution.

The driver and his niece and nephew were unharmed.

Witnesses expressed surprise that Chand made it out of the crash alive.

“I’m shocked that he actually walks away from that, I really do, after seeing the footage it’s unbelievable,” said local mechanic Jason Kouroukas. 9News.

Luke Frendo saw the truck collide and helped pull Chand out of the wreckage.

“The truck came by and hit him on the head because he had a deep cut on his head,” Mr. Frendo said.

“He asked me to get him out, so I pulled him out of the car.”

Chand has been issued to court for operating a motor vehicle during a disqualification period and negligent driving charges

Chand is reportedly a disqualified driver and police claim that this is his second offense without a license.

He has been issued a ticket for operating a motor vehicle during a disqualification period and charges of negligent driving.

Chand will appear before Fairfield Local Court on June 13.
