My date demanded I pay him back $6 for a coffee after I told him I wasn’t interested. He wasn’t happy when I refused…

A woman has revealed that her date asked her to pay him back for the coffee he bought her during a date after she told him she wasn’t interested in him.

Emily, 29, was asked to wire $6 to the man after their one and only date.

The British expat, who lives in Sydney, shared screenshots of their text exchange on TikTok on Monday.

“I thought I would be nice and send him a message saying not to ignore him,” she said in the video.

Emily explained in her post that she “just wasn’t feeling a spark,” but soon got a response from her date, who agreed.

“I agree – we are too different. I wish you the best. PS. Your coffee was $6,” he wrote.

The man provided his PayID details so Emily could refund him the money, but Emily refused to do so because he was “rude”.

Instead, she told him that she had never heard of anyone asking for a refund for a date, to which the man again responded curtly.

Emily, 29, had a failed date with a man she met on the beach, after which she tried to gently turn him down, but he eventually asked for a refund

The two met on the beach and at first Emily thought the guy was worth a try, but after their date was over, she “just wasn’t into it anymore.”

So I send him a message [which was] “Super nice, just to let him know that we’re probably better off as friends,” she recalls.

Her message read: ‘Thanks so much for organising the picnic, shame about the weather. It was nice getting to know you but I didn’t feel like there was a spark, but I’m sure I’ll see you again. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.’

After this, the two started arguing and when the man asked for his money back, Emily sent him another message.

‘I’ve never heard of anyone inviting a girl and then asking for the money [back]“Good luck finding someone,” she wrote.

He replied, “I had no intention of pursuing this further, but I would appreciate it if you would cover your part.”

“It’s not good for you to keep such a small amount.”

The video has been viewed tens of thousands of times, but has since been removed by TikTok, Emily claimed on Tuesday.
