Peak hour chaos in Sydney as SUV smashes into popular city gym

Office workers in Sydney’s CBD heading to their evening workout at a popular gym were faced with chaotic scenes after an SUV crashed through a glass wall.

Emergency services were called to Snap Fitness on Clarence St around 5:30 p.m. on Friday after the black SUV drove through an intersection and into the packed gym.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson said emergency services attended the scene and treated a man in his 70s and another man in his 60s with minor injuries.

Both men were taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further treatment.

Photos from the scene show the gym’s glass front wall completely shattered, the hood of the SUV wedged against the gym’s counter, and shards of glass strewn across the sidewalk.

β€œIt looks like a war zone,” an office worker on his way to nearby Wynyard station told Daily Mail Australia.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
