Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth weather: Cold front and rain on the way
Australians have been warned to prepare for another week of sub-zero temperatures as a cold front sweeps across the country, bringing with it rain.
The Bureau of Meteorology warned that wet weather will hit southern Queensland and northern New South Wales on Monday afternoon.
A cold front will move across western New South Wales on Tuesday, while large parts of the Australian Capital Territory will remain in frosty conditions all week.
Scattered showers are expected across parts of the interior, while Western Australia will see rainfall.
Chief meteorologist Miriam Bradbury told Daily Mail Australia that Perth and parts of south-west Western Australia would experience unsettled weather.
“We expect a couple of cold fronts to move through in quick succession between Tuesday and Thursday,” Bradbury said.
“We saw heavy waterfalls and devastating wind gusts.”
Elsewhere in the Northern Territory it will be mainly sunny, while South Australia will remain dry before showers develop again towards the end of the week.

Ms Bradbury said August was likely to see above average temperatures.
“That’s not to say we won’t see new cold fronts come through and bring temperatures back up to slightly above average,” Bradbury said.
“The temperature is probably more likely to be milder than colder.”
