Top Sydney bakery LouLou to sell its famous French croissants for just $1 each. Here’s what you need to know

A luxury Sydney bakery is giving away croissants for just $1 each to celebrate its three-year anniversary.

LouLou, in North Sydney, will drop the price of its famous pastries on Wednesday, December 18, as a way to thank its “amazing community” for their support.

The delicious treats cost $1 with any coffee goal.

Fans of the French bistro can take home as many as four of the pastries from 7 a.m. They will be available until supplies run out.

The bakery, which is close to Milson’s Point station, has a loyal following and more than 200 people have already shown strong interest in the affordable offering.

The news comes weeks after the French-themed bakehouse announced a new two-storey store would soon open in the city’s CBD.

‘I can’t wait. Now I have something to look forward to when I go to my dentist appointment,” said one fan.

“I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it,” said another.

Others said the eatery’s presence in the CBD felt “dangerous”.

LouLou has 26,000 followers on Instagram. The bakery is just one part of the business and it is also a gourmet restaurant.

The team bakes bread four times a day to ensure a steady supply of fresh produce and delectable pastries for eager customers who often line the street in the morning.

It’s not the only pastry news making headlines this week either, with sweet-toothed Aussies flooding the CBD on Monday morning for a highly anticipated opening.

The iconic Lune bakery opened its doors in Rosebery and Martin Place this week, attracting a huge line of croissant lovers.

Melbourne-based founder Kate Reid is known for creating the ‘perfect’ croissant, with her bakery now selling 35,000 croissants a day.

The Sydney flagship opened its doors to customers at Rosebery’s Engine Yards Precinct on Saturday, December 7 after a five-year wait.

The Rosebery location has a glass cube measuring six by six meters that is kept at the perfect temperature for baking croissants.

In addition, the cube ensures a constant supply of fresh croissants all day long.

Ms. Reid co-owns the chain with her brother Cam. The duo gave customers in Sydney ample notice about the Rosebery store, but quietly opened a CBD store days later.

They currently have stores in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
