Sydenham, Melbourne house fire: Three children left fighting for life

Three children are fighting for their lives after a house in Melbourne’s north-western suburbs was destroyed by fire.

At around 9.30pm on Sunday evening, emergency services were called to a home on Fergus Court in Sydenham following reports of a house fire.

Firefighters entered the home to fight the fire and found three children. They were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The children were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Smoke damage to adjacent buildings is being assessed, but the fire has not spread.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the fire.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
