Swing state poll shows surge in youth support for candidate in the race between Trump and Harris

A new poll shows that Kamala Harris has become increasingly popular among young voters in states where the election remains uncertain in the weeks since President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

The Democratic Party’s investigation Will not go down found that the vice president’s approval rating among 18- to 29-year-olds has increased 16 points since early July.

The latest results follow a fierce campaign weekend that saw Donald Trump lash out at Harris for copying his idea not to tax tips, and JD Vance ramp up accusations of “stolen valor” against Tim Walz over his military record.

Poll: Kamala Harris Wins Over Younger Millennial and Gen Z Voters

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter

Kamala Harris is making up ground that President Joe Biden struggled to win among young voters in this election campaign.

Biden, 81, was trailing in the polls when he entered the race, largely due to a loss of support among younger voters.

But now, with the 59-year-old Harris in the lead, enthusiasm is growing within this voting bloc for the November election.

In a five-way race, Harris is beating Donald Trump by 9 percentage points among registered millennial and Gen Z voters, a 10-point increase from last month, when Biden trailed the former president.

The cover of New Time features a stoic Kamala Harris with a glowing article about the VP

Time Magazine’s cover story paints a colorful picture of the start of Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, attempting to build on the momentum the Democratic candidate is experiencing.

The story is called “The Reintroduction of Kamala Harris,” and the cover features a stoic black-and-white sketch of the vice president.

“Where has Kamala Harris been this whole time?” the article asks, adding:

Judging from the past few weeks, Harris’ own party underestimated her.

Trump’s conversation with Elon Musk will be broadcast live on X

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter

Elon Musk announced that his conversation with Donald Trump will be broadcast live on X on Monday night.

The former president will return to the stage to host the conversation with the billionaire on his own after being largely absent since 2021, when he was banned by then-Twitter owner Jack Dorsey.

Musk promised to conduct “system scale testing” ahead of talks with Trump.

This follows a failed campaign launch on X with Ron DeSantis last year, when the Florida governor launched his Republican candidacy for president.

The only activity Trump has had on his X account since January 8, 2021, is posting a photo of his now-famous arrest photo from the Fultin County Jail in August 2023.

With just 12 days to go until the first anniversary of his message, Trump will return to the stage for his long-awaited conversation with Musk.

Battalion Commander of Tim Walz’s Former Unit DESTROYS Kamala’s Running Mate Over ‘Stolen Bravery’

The battalion commander who led Tim Walz’s former unit has sharply criticized the vice presidential candidate over claims of “stolen valor.”

Lt. Col. John Kolb, the man who was set to take over Walz’s unit after the governor resigned in 2005, has now completely dismissed the Democrat by claiming he held the rank of Command Sergeant Major and retired before his deployment to Iraq.

Kolb wrote in a Facebook post that Walz “did not earn the rank,” adding that “it is an insult to the Noncommissioned Officer Corps that he continues to cling to the title.”

US aircraft carrier group is being sent to the Middle East as new Israeli intelligence suggests Iran will attack within days

A US aircraft carrier group has been rushed to the Middle East as new Israeli intelligence suggests Iran will launch an attack within days.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered a guided-missile submarine to the Middle East on Sunday night and ordered the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group to quickly move to the area, the Defense Department announced.

The move came just hours after Austin spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Pentagon spokesman Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said.

During that conversation, Gallant told Austin that the Iranian military’s preparations indicate the country is preparing for a large-scale attack in retaliation for the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas. Axios reports.

His killing, as well as that of Hezbollah’s top military commander Fuad Shukr by Israel in a strike on Beirut, have fueled concerns about a wider war in the Middle East.

Republican pollster claims Trump is ‘ruining his re-election chances’ – as he reveals how ex-president can get his campaign back on track

A veteran Republican pollster has warned that Donald Trump is “ruining his re-election chances” after the former president fell behind Kamala Harris in recent polls.

Frank Luntz, who has been called the “Nostradamus of pollsters,” said last week that Harris is a slim chance to win. Now he has revealed why he thinks Trump is flagging: “The campaign is disciplined; their candidate is not.”

‘[Trump] single-handedly destroys his re-election chances. This is the weakest Democratic candidate in terms of track record in a long time, but his insistence on making the attacks personal and nasty weakens their impact and actually backfires on him,” Luntz said. The Guardian.

It comes amid reports that Trump’s recent comments, including claims that Harris “accidentally turned black,” have scared off donors. The vice president, by contrast, is enjoying a honeymoon period, with the liberal media falling over each other to promote her campaign and pollsters tipping her to win the White House.

Luntz said Trump can regain momentum by focusing on two key issues: the border crisis, which Harris has mishandled, and the ailing economy.

“I think Trump is going to lose right now because he’s not able to sustain a message on inflation or immigration,” Luntz said.
