In addition to training at his club, Ronaldo also supplements the squad sessions with a personal training plan. He swears by Pilates, swimming regularly and going to the gym five times a week.

These include 25-30 minutes of cardio, high-intensity sprinting and targeted weights to increase muscle strength. So in total he trains three to four hours a day.

Ronaldo also prioritizes his sleep, getting seven and a half hours of sleep, which is what most people should aim for. However, he does it in the usual way.

Instead of catching up on sleep in the evening like everyone else, he takes five 90-minute naps during the day and at night.

Known as polyphasic sleep, the basic concept is to divide the normal sleep cycle into half a dozen naps, although the exact method can vary.
