Swalwell: Hunter’s laptop was just ‘non-consensual nudes’ and it’s ‘bananas’ to say it impacted 2020

Rep. Eric Swalwell got into a bitter public display with Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan during a hearing with FBI Director Christopher Wray as he claimed the GOP has turned into the “party of non-consensual nudes.”

The California Democrat reduced the discoveries on Hunter Biden’s hard drive to his nude photos, despite the heap of damning evidence from the laptop that Republicans say could have changed the outcome of the 2020 election.

Swalwell said at the hearing on Wednesday that it is “bananas” to think the suppression of the laptop discovery has influenced the election. He also slammed Republicans for thinking they were “guardians of personal safety and privacy.”

While there were several shocking images of the president’s son taking drugs and engaging in sexual acts — and one of him naked holding a gun — there were also emails between Hunter and his business associates and foreign partners. In particular, there are emails that are still under investigation as they allegedly linked President Joe Biden to his son’s shady foreign affairs.

“Mr President, I’ve counted the use of the word ‘laptop’ about 20 times during this hearing – and we’ve only been going on for about an hour,” Swalwell complained after questioning Wray at the judiciary’s hearing on Wednesday.

“In fact, in the chairman’s opening statement, he said he is upset that he believes the FBI prevented more Americans from getting behind a private individual’s laptop,” he said, with a swipe at Rep. Jordan, adding, “That’s bananas to me.” .’

Director Wray appeared Wednesday for a hearing before the House Judiciary panel, as it oversees the FBI. Specifically on the minds of the Republican chairman and members are Hunter Biden, 52, and his foreign affairs associates.

A New York Post story that first revealed the existence of Hunter’s abandoned laptop and that some of the information on the hard drive couldn’t circulate online because social media sites like Twitter and Facebook suppressed its spread and made it labeled as misinformation.

National security experts also rejected the report, which came out just a month before the 2020 presidential election. Media outlets were later forced to backtrack on previous reports, also citing the laptop as misinformation.

Republicans argue that if the New York Post story had been given the same airtime and seriousness as other stories, it would have impacted how voters cast their ballots over allegations of President Biden’s involvement in his son’s affairs .

The GOP also maintained that the crackdown could have been part of a larger campaign to cover up how the Biden family enriched itself through President Biden’s office.

Swalwell complained that the laptop was simply full of “non-consensual nudes” — though there is no evidence that Hunter Biden’s nudes were taken without permission. Other information found on the laptop also led to allegations that President Joe Biden was involved in his son’s shady foreign business dealings.

“You all bring up FISA issues, you are essentially telling the American people that you are the custodians of personal security and privacy, but the 2020 election was set because the FBI wouldn’t allow more Americans to see the private citizen . non-consensual nudes,” Swalwell said.

While images on Hunter Biden’s laptop have been widely shared since their discovery, the images were taken by the president’s son and there is no evidence they were taken in a “non-consensual” setting.

‘Is that what we’re saying here? That you didn’t lose the election because of your ideas, but because a private person’s laptop wasn’t there? Those are bananas,” Swalwell added. “For example, you should be a party of ideas, not a party of non-consensual nudes to help you win an election. It seems that’s the objection here today.’

“This hearing has become absolute chaos. I give back.’

During the California legislature’s diatribe, Chairman Jordan tried to interject several times to ask if he would allow Wray to answer the questions he asked about the laptop.

“You want an answer, will you admit?” Jordan asked about Swalwell in vain, adding, “Will you give in for an answer?”

At the end of Swalwell’s time, Jordan said, “We’re bringing up FISA because of the reauthorization – if the gentleman didn’t know – at the end of this year. And it was in our witness’s opening statement.”

“I didn’t bring up the laptop,” he added.
