Sven-Goran Eriksson will fulfill his dream of managing a Liverpool team after the club confirmed he would be part of their charity legends next month.
The former England manager revealed last month that he has been secretly battling terminal cancer for a year, having previously only told his closest family and friends.
He has revealed that his ‘dream’ would be to manage Liverpool with the club’s fans and former players, including Robbie Fowler, calling for him to be in the dugout when LFC Legends face Ajax in next month a charity match.
Liverpool today confirmed they have given the 76-year-old his wisdom, revealing he will be part of a management team for the match on March 23.
The Reds said in a statement: ‘Verpool said: ‘We are pleased to confirm that Sven-Goran Eriksson will be part of the LFC Legends management team for the match against Ajax Legends at Anfield on March 23.

Sven revealed last month that he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and has been secretly battling the disease for a year, having only told his closest family and friends.
The 76-year-old has since revealed in an interview that his dream was to coach Liverpool
He will join Liverpool legends Ian Rush and John Barnes in the management team
‘The former England boss will join a dugout of LFC greats including Ian Rush, John Barnes and John Aldridge for the LFC Foundation’s annual charity match.
“All associated with the club and the LFC Foundation look forward to welcoming LFC fan Sven and his family to Anfield – and seeing him in the dugout on the day – for a fantastic fundraising opportunity.”
Current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp also gave his approval for Eriksson to feature in next month’s legends match.
“I first heard about his admiration or love for Liverpool and that he was a fan all his life,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said last month.
“Now I heard about the Legends (game) and stuff like that. I am not responsible for that.
“All I can say is that he is absolutely welcome to come here and he can sit in my chair in my office and do my job for a day if he wants. That’s no problem.
‘Being on the sidelines might be a bit more difficult. To have him here and show him everything and how this wonderful club has developed over the years, I think that is definitely something we will tell him.
“He can come here and have a wonderful few hours, I’m sure.”
