SUV horribly crashes into Houston Denny’s on Labor Day, injuring 23 people aged 12 to 60: Driver, 30, under investigation
A driver drove his SUV through a wall of a busy restaurant in East Texas, injuring 23 people in a shocking Labor Day wreck.
Police in Rosenberg, Texas, a suburb of Houston, received calls about a Jeep SUV crashing into the Denny’s around 11:22 a.m.
The chain location was just off the Southwest Freeway
The vehicle crashed into the restaurant’s south wall, leaving customers with injuries ranging from minor cuts to “serious injuries” that do not appear to be life-threatening, police said in a statement.
The victims ranged in age from 12 to 60 years old, one woman said ABC13 that her parents, who are 75 and 79 years old, were also injured.

Officials stated that everyone injured was conscious when they were transported to area hospitals.
There would have been people in the emergency room being treated for their injuries in the hours following the crash.
The driver of the SUV, believed to be around 30 years old, was not injured and is being investigated, police said. The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Video of the aftermath shows a red vehicle completely inside the restaurant, with the wall and windows around it demolished.
Several lanes on the Southwest highway were closed because the police were investigating at the scene.
