UK cult toothpaste brand takes Aussie market by storm to become 3rd most popular brand at Woolworths on launch day
- All-natural toothpaste brand Waken is finally in Australia
- The cult favorite is already the third best-selling natural product at Woolworths
A toothpaste company with a huge following in the UK has come to Australia – and shoppers can’t seem to get enough.
Waken launched Down Under on 3 May and is already the third most popular brand in the all-natural dental care category at Woolworths.
In just 24 hours, sales data indicated that the wildly popular toothpaste and mouthwash range beat out Colgate’s own “Hello” natural range.
A Waken product is sold every minute in the UK, making Australia’s first day frenzy less surprising.
“This is the best mouthwash I’ve ever tried,” one customer wrote online.
While others admitted that the “aesthetic” was the hook for them.
“I don’t want ugly toothpaste in my shower. This one looks nice.’
Australian shoppers can now get their hands on British cult-favourite all-natural toothpaste brand Waken
Waken’s line includes products in four flavors in toothpaste and mouthwash, including Whitening, Peppermint, Mint & Strawberry, and Spearmint.
Shoppers especially love the brand’s sustainable packaging and pretty pastel hues.
Retailing at $13 for a 75ml tube of toothpaste and $15 for 500ml of mouthwash, Waken’s whitening toothpaste whitens up to eight shades without peroxide.
Instead, the brand uses a unique combination of natural enzymes from papaya, pineapple, zinc salts and pyrophosphates.
“When formulating our products, we wanted to make sure consumers weren’t forced to compromise on effectiveness like some other natural product-based brands,” explains Simon Duffy MBE, founder of Waken Mouthcare.
‘Our survey found that 53 per cent of Aussies would be concerned about switching to a more natural based oral care brand due to the perception that it will be less effective, so it’s great that they now have a great choice in Waken. ‘
He added: ‘Our toothpaste tubes are made from recycled and endlessly recyclable aluminum, the boxes are made from FSC-certified cardboard and our mouthwash bottles are made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic.’
A Waken product is sold every minute in the UK – and Aussie consumers can expect similar levels of craze after trying the highly effective product
Consumers around the world are excited about Waken’s “life-changing” products.
“They have a lovely scent and I love the metal tube it comes in – unlike most which are plastic,” said one man. “Great mint paste, my teeth feel really clean, and I can recycle the tube – would recommend.”
“I like the eco-friendly aspects of Waken, the metal recyclable tube, and the makeup of the actual toothpaste,” said another.
She added, “It’s way better than any other eco-friendly toothpaste I’ve tried, some of them are downright disgusting.”
A third wrote: ‘This works well at a small dose, lathers gently, with a nice natural flavour. I like that it has vegan approved content and comes in recycled packaging.”
