Suspicious blaze breaks out at former home of disgraced deputy mayor Salim Mehajer
The former home of disgraced deputy mayor Salim Mehajer – whose infamous wedding closed a street in the Sydney suburb of Lidcombe – has been damaged in what authorities say is a suspicious fire.
The six-bedroom house was empty about 9.30pm on Tuesday when neighbors heard an alarm in the property and saw flames pouring from the second floor.
The front door was open and the fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire within twenty minutes.
